In light of the upcoming global March Against Monsanto, I offer the etymology lesson for the day:  Monsanto.

Monsanto is a biotech company that makes many claims.

But what does the name actually mean?

Mon = One 

Think Monophone,  Monologue, Monopoly.

Santo = Saint 

Now hold on a minute!  Monsanto is the one saint?

Call me a conspiracy theorist, or a linguist. Either way, Monsanto still looks like the Antichrist.
